    Have a story that can move our community forward? We want to hear it.

    EMERGE Theatre Group is seeking original one-act plays from first-time, emerging, and established playwrights who live and dwell in Southwest Mississippi for our 2nd Annual Fresh Ink New Play Series.

    We're looking for compelling stories that spark conversation, strengthen our communities, and inspire reflection.

    Submission Guidelines
    • Original one-act plays (10–30 pages)
    • Playwrights of all ages
    • Southwest Mississippi residents only
    • Deadline: September 11, 2026

    Selected playwrights will receive a rehearsed, professionally directed staged reading as part of the Fresh Ink New Play Series on November 2, 2026.

    "Jackie's Readers" is a book club for BIPOC teens in McComb that convene for several months to study a book that resonates with their experiences. Through the JR Project, we will study how reading can inspire leadership and human connection among today's youth.
