In class, I watched a speech called “I Have a Dream” on YouTube. It was spoken by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.:
"I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation." - MLK
Dr. King made me and other black people happy. He made me be super brave and made me super confident. Segregation means that you are separate from different races of people. He gave a speech that made people think a lot about racism.
"Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood." - MLK
We, as students, don’t have to be separate. We don’t have to be white to have friends. We can love eachother instead of having to be racist. Overall, Dr. King fought so we don't have to suffer today.
